Lacey Meeting RoomIn honor of America's 250th anniversary, discover the vital role the Jersey Shore played in the fight for independence. Presented by the Ocean County Cultural & Heritage Commission
Discover the vital role the Jersey Shore played in the fight for independence and why the last skirmish of the American Revolution happened in what is now Ocean County on December 27, 1782. New Jersey experienced more military engagements than any other colony throughout the war, including the six most significant conflicts in what is now Ocean County: the Toms River Blockhouse Fight, Defense of Egg Harbor, Long Beach Island Massacre, Manahawkin Skirmish, and the Affair at Cedar Bridge. Join us to explore how bitter, personal grudges and local resources made this area a hotbed of activity during the Revolutionary War.
