Academic accommodations for a high school student are often made by the individual in conjunction with their caregivers. However, accommodations in college are made by the student alone – and are different than those offered by high schools.
Jamie Arasz Prioli, the Director of Access and Disability Services at Ocean County College, will provide an overview of accommodations in a college setting. In addition, she will share information on eligibility determination and requesting accommodations during your student’s transition to OCC. This presentation is geared toward high school students and their families as well as students with disabilities considering college after taking a gap year or two. Please contact the Lacey Branch at (609) 693-8566 to request reasonable accommodations no later than one week before the scheduled event.
Registration will begin on July 6.
BIO: Jamie Arasz Prioli is the Director of Access & Disability Services at Ocean County College (OCC). She has worked in the disability field for over 30 years and identifies as a neurodivergent adult with a life-long hidden disability, which gives her a unique understanding of inclusion and accessibility.
As a certified Rehabilitation Counselor, she uses both her knowledge and personal experience to help others address access barriers in education, work and community environments. Jamie often speaks to groups in the community and across the state about disability and inclusion and emergency planning considerations for individuals with disabilities. She serves as the chairperson for Ocean County’s Core Advisory Group (CAG) on Emergency Preparedness for Individuals with Disabilities and Access Needs and serves as the Training Officer for Brick Township’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). This year, she was honored with the 2025 New Jersey State Governor’s Volunteerism Award for her outstanding service in education.
