Join us as Maud Dahme, a Holocaust survivor, shares her story and experiences as a hidden child during World War II.
Born in 1936 in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, Maud Dahme was six years old when she and her sister were separated from their parents and hidden by the Dutch resistance, a secret "underground" network of people who opposed Hitler's regime. After the liberation of the Netherlands in 1945, Dahme and her sister were reunited with their parents, and the family immigrated to the United States when Dahme was fourteen years old. Today, Maud Dahme devotes her time to Holocaust and genocide education and remains an active member of the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education.
