Join local author Kayla Hamel for a reading of her book This Special Someone, a rhyming picture book celebrating the special people who love us, even those we've lost. Followed by a craft activity.

Join local self-published author Kayla Hamel for a heartfelt storytime reading of This Special Someone, a short, rhyming picture book inspired by a true family story. Written for her daughter, who never had the chance to meet her grandfather, this sweet and gently illustrated book celebrates the special people who love us, even those we've lost. With cozy grandparent-grandchild illustrations, playful pups, and a rhyme meant to keep memories alive, this quick and heartfelt read offers gentle grief support for little ones and grown-ups alike who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Following the story, children will enjoy a craft activity led by former art teacher Eileen Santos (the author's mother).
