During Jewish American Heritage month, join us for a discussion of tactics Jewish (and non-Jewish) victims used to resist during the Holocaust, including spiritual, educational, and armed resistance.
Zoey Guarino, Director of Conflict Resolution and Anti-Bias Initiatives for the New Jersey State Bar Association, will lead this discussion exploring a variety of tactics used by Jewish (and non-Jewish) victims to resist during the Holocaust, including using spiritual, educational, and armed resistance. A portion of this discussion will highlight the actions family members, children, friends, and even strangers took during their final moments of life to express their humanity, or their will to live. It’s important to recognize that resistance was not usually a path to survival for the individual resistor. Despite this, so many people did resist for a myriad of reasons.
