Each month, the Southern Ocean Birding Group brings in a speaker on the topics of birds in New Jersey. Doors open at 6:30 pm.
Using Mark-Recapture to Study Demographics, Longevity, and Stop-Over Ecology of Birds at Sandy Hook, NJ ”, presented by Tom Brown. Tom is a Biologist and Laboratory Supervisor with the College of Staten Island, CUNY who has been banding birds since 1994. He spent two field seasons as an avian and marine mammal observer in the Antarctic, and was a voting member of the New Jersey Bird Records Committee (NJBRC) from 2014 to 2020.
