How to Know When Your Child May Need Early Intervention

Developmental milestones serve as benchmarks for determining the growth of a young child. They encompass motor skills, communication skills, social and emotional skills, and cognitive skills.

During this workshop, you’ll learn what steps to take if you’re concerned that your child may have delays in these areas.  Topics will include:

· Signs that your child has delays

· An overview of Early Intervention – services provided to children under the age of 3 who show signs of delays

· The importance of enrolling your child in Early Invention services – and how to get started

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

Mary Mc Ardle is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist who has worked in the Early Intervention world for almost 30 years.  As a practitioner working with families in their homes to conducting evaluations to determine eligibility for EI services, she has worked in a variety of environments, always focusing on the family’s capacity to help their child learn and grow.  Mary has held leadership roles with Children’s Specialized Hospital since 2002.  She focuses her teams on supporting the relationship between the child and parent.
