In honor of Black History Month, presenter Lillian Nickens discusses the music history of Hip Hop and its origins. Sponsored by the Friends of the Lacey Library. Please register.

This program traces hip hop’s origins from African oral traditions, rhythm, and communal storytelling to the birth of hip hop in the Bronx. Through interactive activities, participants explore how African cultural practices shaped the five pillars of hip hop and how these traditions continue to influence music, art, and resistance today. Presented by Stockton University Graduate Coordinator (SET) Lillian Nickens.  Program in honor of Black History Month and is sponsored by the Friends of the Lacey Branch.  Please register.
