This American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) flagship program offers attendees insights into suicide as a leading cause of death, covering the latest research on prevention and effective community actions to save lives.
Attendees will be able to:
· Describe the impact of suicide.
· Identify contributors to suicide and protective factors.
· Understand how suicide can affect different communities in unique ways.
· Describe how to identify warning signs of suicide.
· Provide examples of how to initiate a conversation about suicide with someone you are concerned about.
· List ways to seek and offer support and crisis resources for yourself or others.
