Join Dr. Jeffrey Schenker as he portrays Captain Joshua Huddy and brings history to life.

Meet Joshua Huddy as he discusses his life story with an emphasis on the Toms River Battle of the Block House and how his being hanged led to an international incident involving Great Britain, France, and the United States.

Captain Joshua Huddy is portrayed by Dr. Jeffrey Schenker. Schenker taught history for many years at Toms River High School South and is currently an adjunct professor of history at Ocean County College. He recently served two terms as president of the Ocean County Historical Society.
