Has your child recently been diagnosed with autism and you're unsure where to begin? A representative from Graham Behavior Services will provide a better understanding of the diagnose.
This presentation is designed to help parents and caregivers better understand autism spectrum disorder and feel more confident about the steps that follow a new diagnosis. We will provide an overview of autism, discuss common developmental and learning differences, and highlight the strengths and needs that may look different for each child. Families will learn about the wide range of supports that may be available, including school-based services such as early intervention, special education, and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). We will also review therapy options that are often recommended after diagnosis, including speech therapy, occupational therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and other supportive services. In addition, this session will explore community resources that can help families connect with support networks, advocacy organizations, and local programs.
