If you are the parent of an adult individual with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, you know that there are options for their long-term care. Please Register.

If you are the parent of an adult individual with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, you know that there are options for their long-term care.  But did you realize that you, a family member, or a friend can receive monetary compensation and other benefits to be that individual’s primary caregiver – right in their own home?

This program will be led by Michael Elchoness and Pamela Stephens of Your Choice Home Care, a NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities service provider, and by Christine Matus of The Matus Law Group.  They will describe the requirements for becoming your loved one’s paid caregiver in New Jersey and will address:

  • The process of applying to the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities and selecting a Support Coordination Agency – essential components to participating in this program
  • The responsibilities that a paid caregiver assumes – and the compensation package that they receive
  • The factors to consider in determining whether this program is right for you and your family     

This workshop is geared toward parents of individuals ages 18+. Please Register.
