Learn how to identify, preserve and care for the books and papers in your personal collection. This is a quick-paced, introductory workshop filled with lots of images, examples, and authentic items!

With a background working with museum artifacts and family heirlooms, Lindsey Smith loves to help people interpret, preserve, and better understand the objects that make up our world. Lindsey has spoken to dozens of groups across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic, helping audiences understand how to appreciate and care for their old photographs, clothing, and other treasured heirlooms.

Lindsey has an MA in Historical Administration and advanced coursework in archives and records management. Lindsey served on the Governor-appointed Iowa Historical Records Advisory Board and the Iowa Museum Association Board, and is currently the Artifact Assessment Program Coordinator for the New Jersey Association of Museums.
