Designed for developmentally disabled children (ages 4 to 11) and their families, this program will explore the theme of “Connection” through playful movement, mindfulness, and open-ended art making. Since we’ll be using art materials that may not be taste-friendly, the group is best for kiddos that have mastered the impulse of putting objects into their mouths. All members of the family are invited to participate and activities are open-ended enough to meet the needs of a wide range of preferences for participation. Please note that there will be varying levels of noise in the room (music and conversation at various points in the activity).
Presented by Jennifer Lawrence, Board Certified Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. The presenter will be available to answer questions about art and play therapy after the program. This program is sponsored by the Ocean County Library Foundation.
This program is strictly limited to 25 participants. Please register each member of your family who will be attending individually.
