Join NASA Solar System Ambassador Tom Timko to learn about NASA initiatives to reach the moon, learn about humans in space, and get answers to your questions about our off-world plans.
Learn about the effects of space on the human body, why it is imperative to find water on the moon, and what equipment will be needed on the trip. Get an update on what is happening with the James Webb Space Telescope. Tom invites you to ask questions about any aspect of our travel plans or what space is like.
Tom Timko's interest in astronomy stemmed from the space race, Star Trek, model rocketry and Carl Sagan's "Cosmos." His favorite presentation comes complete with a scale model solar system and a five foot Sun. The venue comes alive with science visuals specifically selected to excite creativity and the imagination. His passion is to inspire students, educators and the community to the wonders and beauty of space. NASA initiatives, spin-offs and missions are discussed, along with our Sun, planets, solar system, galaxy and beyond to the universe. Questions are encouraged and time is always provided to answer as many as possible. You can follow Tim at https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/ambassadors/831
