Little Egg Harbor Meeting Room

Join us for light refreshments and the opportunity to meet our July artists, Jim McShea & Joey Harness. Refreshments provided by The Friends of the Little Egg Harbor Branch.

Jim McShea has  been a practicing artist for forty years.  He received his bachelor’s degree in painting from Tyler School of Art, Temple University in 1985.  He received his master’s degree in painting from Yale School of Art, Yale University in 1989.  He has had two solo exhibitions at the Alpha Gallery in Boston and was honored to have had three solo exhibitions at the George Billis Gallery.  Recently he has been affiliated with the North End Trilogy Gallery in Barnegat Light.  In May of 2023 he had a two person show at Pine Shores Art Association in Manahawkin.

Joey Harness was born in 1962 in Long Branch, and grew up in and around Red Bank, NJ. After serving in Hawaii and the Western Pacific and Indian Oceans for four years in the United States Marine Corps, he moved to Florida and attended courses at the University of Tampa and Hillsborough Community College. There he concentrated on Writing and Art classes, but with a wife and child already, he went to work for the Postal Service, and completed a 32 year career with them. Since retirement his interest in art has been rekindled. He has studied under Art Smith and Toni Frary at the Veteran's Art Class of the Medford Arts Center, and at Perkins Art Center at Moorestown's Veteran Class. He is also a member of Pine Shores Art Association and the Toms River Artists Community. He has shown his art in group shows at these organizations, and at Veteran group shows at Virtua Hospital in Mount Holly, and the Warden's House at the Burlington County Prison Museum in Mount Holly. He has also exhibited pieces at Burlington County's annual Art After Dark experience at Historic Smithville Park.
