Celebrate Juneteenth by using historical databases and primary source materials to understand the shared memory of Emancipation and its celebration.

Celebrate Juneteenth by accessing historical databases and primary source materials to understand the collective memory of Emancipation. Staff will provide a guided introduction and exploration of historical documents and information to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans.

Database access is provided by the Ocean County Library. Primary sources from the Library of Congress’s Born in Slavery: Slave Narratives from the Federal Writers' Project, 1936 to 1938 collection will also be viewed.
