Hear stories passed down through generations, that capture the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the African American community as they moved from the rural South to the North and West.
Join us at the Waretown Branch of Ocean County Library for a special program celebrating “The Food and the Folks of the Great Migration”. These timeless stories, passed down through generations, capture the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the African American community as they moved from the rural South to the North and West, bringing their foodways and family traditions. Our program features a display of family items from that movement and engaging and interactive storytelling designed for Audiences Middle School through Adult. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Waretown Library. Please register.
