Jean-Michel Basquiat went from a struggling graffiti artist to one of the most important artists of his time. Create a Basquiat-inspired art project. Please register.
Jean-Michel Basquiat started as a struggling artist who lived on the streets. As an African-American artist with African-Caribbean lineage, he broke through race barriers and challenged the art elites of the 1980s to become one of the most influential artists of his time. Even now, decades after his death, his legacy lives on. His work is in high demand. In 2017 one of his paintings was sold for $110 million dollars.
After learning about the artist and his journey, attendees will create a Basquiat-inspired art project. All materials are supplied. Please register.
