Looking to inject some Latin flavor into your holidays this season? Give your menu a Latin flavor boost with some holiday favorites from Puerto Rico and Peru. Local food enthusiasts and creators, Ruben and Pattie Castillo will touch upon the history of Latino drinks and dishes served up during the holiday season, such as coquito, arroz con gandules, pannettone and more!

Presenters Ruben and Patricia Castillo are lifelong foodies, love entertaining guests throughout the holidays so much so they created a cooking demonstration program specifically catered towards their ethnic heritage and brought it to the library.

Ruben is an award winning Elvis Tribute Artist and comes from a multi-ethnic family with roots in Peru and the United States. Patricia is a life coach whose Puerto Rican ancestry can be traced back generations. The husband and wife team are also weight-loss surgery warriors. They are taking their love of food and travel, while also speaking about the challenges and victories of a bariatric lifestyle with their podcast, "Pattie and Ruben Got Sleeved!" Their business, Mockingbird Enterprises, LLC., focuses on projects centered on the Power of E - Education and Entertainment Equals Empowerment!

This program will teach attendees about some of the popular dishes served during the December holidays in Latin American countries, namely Puerto Rico and Peru. Attendees are encouraged to try samples of recipes provided so they may know more about the people, cultures, and foods of Latin America.
