Dan is a certified scuba diver having attained a divemaster certification. He has logged over 2,300 dives. He has a love for maritime history in the state of New Jersey. For more than two decades he has spent countless hours researching and identifying shipwrecks off the coast. This avocation, coupled with his diving and technical illustration background, has allowed him to participate in 30 archaeological expeditions throughout the region. He has mapped nearly thirty wreck sites and created illustrations of them for archaeological reports for both state and federal agencies. Sponsored by the Friends of the Island Library.
